Intercontinental Hotel – Coral Restaurant

We stayed at Intercontinental Hotel for 3 days to celebrate our son’s 2nd birthday. We had so much fun around the Hotel, the pool, beach, the fitness room, etc. (Click this LINK to check our Hotel review). 29th of May was my son’s birthday and at the same time it was Ramadan so they only served a variety of Oriental, International delights and more on Arabic cuisines. It’s an Iftar buffet for Muslim’s but we still tried the food because we have no time to go far outside just to eat somewhere else after all we’re already here in the Hotel and we have vouchers.

The Iftar buffet was 200 QR per person.

You can easily find the Restaurant at the Lower Ground level and you can find this big coral entrance.

The restaurant set up was nice and neat, tables and chairs are comfy and spacious.

The buffet set up is very organized, from salads to desserts.

They also served sushi but only few.

These are the Arabic desserts which is too much sweeter than a normal dessert for you.

I’m a sushi lover but this is the first time I’ve got disappointed to them. Maybe the fish meat and the fruits doesn’t blend perfectly and it’s really too big that the sushi is full of rice.

And as for my review, the food was not so great after all and I didn’t enjoy the food that much. Maybe I only enjoyed few of them just like their grilled beef.

This is based on my experience here in Coral, but it’s up to you if you want to try it or not. I do appreciate Arabic foods but maybe because the choices of food didn’t meet my standards and it’s quite pricey for the buffet. Maybe if it’s not Ramadan they will serve better cuisines than this one.
