Annyeong, Korea! – Day 1 (27th March 2017)

South Korea is one of the most popular country when it comes to K-Dramas and K-Pops. Most of teenagers dream from all over the World is to visit Korea and my niece is one of them. She is a die hard fan of K-Pops (well, I don’t know them actually but I’m a big fan of K-dramas). And when Chad told me where will be our next travel destination for this year he completely blow my mind, “SEOUL KOREA!” And I was like, am I dreaming or what?! I am SO super excited and already planning what to wear or what should I eat there and where to go. So here are my steps to follow a good start on your first day in Seoul.

Just a reminder that the Itineraries I will be posting is suitable for families with a toddler/s.

First make sure you already applied for your Korea Visa. If you are planning to, click HERE for more info.

Before heading to the Immigration, we passed by two Quarantine inspection so make sure that you are in good health before traveling. Of course, you can’t enjoy your vacay if your sick!

We rode a train inside the Airport to transfer in the Arrival area. And here we are, Welcome to Incheon International Airport!

I know I know…  The feeling is I want to go outside immediately to see Seoul! But don’t let your excitement rush you because you can’t go outside without these important things when you go around Korea:

MONEY CHANGER -As soon as you arrived at the airport better change some Korean won for your initial expenditure.

POCKET WIFI – Your travel wouldn’t be complete without posting your latest pictures in Instagram, right? 📷And I do recommend that you must have this KLOOK app on your mobile which is a budget friendly app that gives you great deals. Additional info, if you want to avail certain voucher it would take 24 hours for Klook to process although some of the voucher will be received as soon as you pay it so you better check the description before purchasing.

Original price is KRW 8,000 (Php 350.00) per day,  while in Klook app it’s KRW 2,983 (Php 123.00) per day. Big savings right??? You can find this shop at Gate 7.

BUS TICKET/T-MONEY – We bought our bus ticket inside the airport and this is one of the best thing in Korea is their transportation. Each buses has their own assigned numbers where you want to go. We rode the Bus 101-132 going to Dongdaemun where is our Hotel we booked. The T-Money card is also good to use on Metro’s, buses and taxis. Even in McDonalds!

MAUI HOTEL

Chad booked Maui Hotel thru Agoda and we paid for QAR 271.79 good for 2 nights Standard Double Room (we booked for only 2 nights to check if it’s suitable for us because Hotel Maui is one of the recommendable Hotels in Korea for travelers since it’s a good budget accommodation with daily breakfast. But honestly, it doesn’t satisfy my needs (as a MOM). Yes it’s true, it’s affordable but the room is not perfect for families like us. The room is small and it can only fit for two adults so I do not recommend Maui Hotel for those who have kids. And we decided to look for a better accommodation for us. And yes we found one! (Check on Day 2 @ Korea).

Korean Restaurant, MASIL

Before the day ends, we roam around the streets to find something to eat and saw this restaurant named Masil . This is their menu and we tried the first one, Beef and mushroom hot pot for KRW 12,000 and the taste of the soup was perfect! Good for those who doesn’t like spicy foods.

And for another info, if you will eat in any Korean restaurant, automatically they will serve you a bunch of appetizers just like the picture below. (Look at Raf’s reaction on the hot pot! hahaha!)

After our 9 hours flight from Doha to Incheon, plus 2 hours travel from Incheon airport going to Maui Hotel, I think we deserve a good night sleep, eh?

안녕히 주무세요 (Good night!)
