Day 05 – 20th of December 2016
The Chronicles of Georgia
Located just close to the Tbilisi lake, it is a huge monuments which illustrates the history of Georgia, big statues and frescos. We came here around 10 am and there’s only few people visiting here which is I think it’s not that popular enough in Georgia but it was worth it, it’s a very spiritual place, monuments there are very nice with a beautiful view of the valley.

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the Town View
No trip to Tbilisi would be complete without a visit to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the nearby Jvari Church, both buildings being listed on the Unesco World Heritage list. Once it Mtskheta, you cannot miss the Cathedral, it is in the middle of the town and everyone gathers there . There are a lot of commercial stands mostly souvenirs or food but the tourist feels rapidly the religious appealing that the site has on locals and generally on the Georgian culture.

I do really love coffee and this one caught my attention, Coffee on the Sand? Well the taste was good but it will be more delicious if it’s hot. Maybe because of the weather that’s why it turns cold easily.

While I’m having a good time drinking my coffee, there’s a bunch of colorful weird candle shaped which is makes me more curious about. It was an explosion of colors, flavors and aromas and this is the Churchkela. It is way more different than the first day we bought it from the store (Day 1: Hello Georgia post). The vendors were gracious and kindly let us sample their products. They were more than happy to explain the use of various seasons and spices such as the marigold and fenugreek powder, plum sauces and garlic salt. It was a sensory overload.

Along the street, you can also find souvenir shops which sells more toys and honestly, some of them looks spooky to me.

After our historical tour, we headed to our lunch at Salobie Ltd. This place can be easily called an historical eating place in Mtskheta. The restaurant was recommended to us by our tour coordinator and she was right because they serves very tasty local Georgian foods for a very reasonable price.

Lobio Beans for 2 gel. This is one of the traditional dish in Georgia and the cooked lobio would then be served in the clay pot, along with a flat bread.
📷
Phkali Spinach with Walnut for 3 gel, one of the popular dish that can be made with many different types of leaves, including spinach, nettles, cabbage and beetroot and it can also be made with vegetables and nuts.
📷
Mtsvadi pork ribs for 9 gel, this is an extraordinary dish because of the fresh meat and the flavours added on it.
📷
Kachapuri Ajaruli for 5 gel. It is justifiably considered to be one of Georgia’s national dishes and it’s very popular because of the softness of the dough together with the Georgian cheese that makes a perfect blend!

This was our last day tour and I still missed this beautiful country until now. But goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, it simply mean, i’ll miss you, until we meet again, Georgia! And before everything else, I’m so grateful and blessed that I had a chance to encounter the tour specialist/coordinators Geraldine & Ghenies (Kabayans & Pinoys in Tbilisi, Georgia) for being cooperative, obliging & providing us the best service they had and if you want to experience the Georgia in a very affordable and reasonable price, well I’m proud to recommend this Travel agency and for sure that from your every penny you spend, you’ll never regret it. 📷
Big thanks also to our tour guides, Tata, Anna, Nina & Giga for being so friendly, pleasant & approachable.
