Best and affordable Hostel in Dongdaemun, South Korea
If you’re looking for an affordable and convenient place to stay in Seoul, I would highly recommend K-Grand Hostel. This Hostel recently opened last March 2017 and we we’re lucky enough as they offered us discount during our stay. The hostel is nearby the subway-line 2 (middle of sangwangsimi and wangsimni station), more or less 3 to 5-minute walk. The location is quite ideal as it’s nearby famous landmark such as Myeongdong, Bukchon Hanok Village, Gyeongbokgung, Cheongdokgung Palace and Ewha University.

You can also find a convenient store and a Bank (in case you’ll need a money changer) if your heading to Wangsimni Station. If you’re craving for foods, there are so many choices along the streets,
and you can also see McDonalds and Starbucks!

Reception area
The Reception area is in the 6th floor and you will see the lovely Korean lady, Chan Ju or CJ for short. CJ is the Manager of the Hostel and she is very accommodating to everyone. And she even surprised us. WHY? Korean is not just her language but she also knew how to speak Tagalog, FLUENTLY! HOW? She’s been living in Philippines for 11 years (I think) to study so that’s why she adopt our language. (Feels like I’m an interviewer not a blogger, eh? HAHA!) It’s an additional advantage for those who are Filipino travelers that needs a proper guide. We originally booked for double room but she was kind enough to give us discount and even upgraded our room into Triple room on the same discounted price. Isn’t she great!? For the total of 8 days we only paid for KRW 252,000 includes daily breakfast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE!

The check-in time at the K-Grand Hostel is 2 pm but CJ let us moved early around 11 am in the morning so we can roam around Korea.

Triple Room
You can request to CJ if you want to clean your room. For the used towels, just hand it over to CJ and she will replace the new ones. They will charge you a security deposit just in case you damage some of their stuffs.
📷
Washroom
They provide Shampoo, Conditioner and a Shower gel so no need to buy those in the store.

📷
Most of their TV channels are Korean shows without any English translator but they have 2 English channels if you want to watch TV.
📷
Before anything else, once you enter in your designated room, be aware that shoes are not allowed inside of the room. But they have a complimentary sandals and a shoe cabinet where you can leave your shoes.

Dining & Kitchen area
Their breakfast timing starts at 8 am up to 10 am. It’s a good thing while you’re having a breakfast, you can see a nice view on the window seeing the buildings, cars and people walking along the streets.
📷
Their breakfast is unlimited. Yes! You can eat how many breads, eggs, and cereal as much as you wanted.
📷
It’s a self service so you will be the one to cook on your own meal. You can also buy uncooked bacon’s, sausage in the convenient store if you want to have a big meal. But be sure that you will clean all the mess after you used all their utensils.📷
Hope this post helps you while you’re traveling or planning to go in South Korea. Please do share your stories on my blog if you’d been here or if you have any questions, I will make sure to reply as soon as possible. Xiao!
