Day 02 – 17th of December 2016
Good morning, Georgia!
As I woke up, there’s only one thing before I start my day, I need to eat my breakfast and it’s not just any breakfast, I need a heavy & big one. (Yes, I turned to a dinosaur especially when it comes to breakfast! lol!) Well it’s a good thing that our hotel is serving buffet breakfast, and also they do serve rice, yes you read it right, rice! So that’ why I had lots of energy on this very tiring yet a gleeful awesome day.
This is our delectable breakfast. (but it would be much better if they serve a different meals every other day.)

Our tour coordinator informed us that we need to wear lots of warm clothes especially winter clothes due to the weather temperature reached -21 degrees at this moment.
Along with our friends and to our pretty tour guide, Tata.

Kazbegi Landscape
This is our first destination on our first tour here in Georgia. Kazbegi is also known as Stepantsminda, is a small town north of Georgia and located 10km away from the Russian border. The view is surrounded by a beautiful landscape but I think it will be more beautiful if its by spring months (March to May). We visited the Ananuri Monastery Complex – a combined castle and fortress that sits along Georgian Military Highway. On my first impression, it looks like an old church that quite spooky, especially the coffins that you can see at the back of the Church. (looks like a horror film to me.)

See?

But when we get inside of the Church, it feels like your in a safe zone because it was very quiet and peaceful. And for an additional info, Orthodox churches doesn’t have any seats for the people who wants to pray, the only one who are allowed to sit is the priest while the mass is ongoing.
📷
Outside of the church you can see booths that selling winter accessories, souvenirs, etc. and if you’re planning to buy some souvenir like fridge magnets, they give you a good price unlike at the town of Tbilisi. But make sure they will give you discount! We bought two fridge magnets for 10 gel unlike some other souvenir shops that sells 1 fridge magnet for 10 gel.

Gudauri
We arrived at the Gudauri to had our lunch so afterwards we will be having a lot of energy to explore the Gudauri. Mtvrali Alubali is the name of the Resaurant we had our midday meal.
Here is their menu which has a Georgian & English translation.
📷📷
We ordered their Special Kachapuri (again) for 15 gel and as for me, this is the most delicious Kachapuri I’d ever tasted! This is good for 4-5 persons and the price is not bad at all. It’s very affordable and it has too much cheese on the inside that feels so good when you eat it all up.
📷
This is Ojakhuri, it’s a barbecued pork base with baked potatoes. It’s salty and flavored like Arabic but still tasted good. But ordering a barbecue is not a joke ’cause you need to wait for 30 minutes or more.
📷
This is a Kharcho, a beef soup that includes a rice which is quite different and it’s also taste like Arabic and at the same time it’s still salty. Not good for the people who have kidney problems. LOL.
📷
And for those who are planning to go here in Georgia, you should be aware what you’re gonna order ’cause most of the restaurant receipt here is their language, like the photo below.
📷
After we finished our meal, we go directly to the cable car for 5 gel. It has 3 chairlift that brings you to the highest mountain of Gudauri. But at this moment, the first lift is not available so we proceed to the 2nd level upto 3rd level. And honestly, it’s really freezing me out! I can’t feel my legs and my fingers. And if you’re planning to ride a cable car, don’t bring any material things with you or if you wanna bring a camera make sure that it’s safe and it won’t fall. (Sorry Geraldine for your sunglass. :'(still can’t get over with it. huhuhuhu)

📷
Taking the moment to embrace and appreciate what a beautiful World we have.
📷
And finally we reached the 3rd mountain here at the Gudauri. We actually plan to try the paragliding but it was cancelled due to the weather is too windy and also a good thing ’cause it feels the same if you tried the cable car. The paragliding costs 24o gel per pax which is quite expensive too.
📷
When we arrived at our Hotel, we order our food thru online, www.menu.ge , it shows there which is your location to choose. Round o’clock means 24/7 open restaurant and it’s an advantage for those who doesn’t want to eat outside. Make sure you have a Magti sim card ’cause the call center will call you thru your mobile number. But to inform you that the waiting time is around 1 hour or more.
Tiflisi Vorontsove – the name of the Restaurant we order online.
Pork Bbq (in the middle) – 9.7 gel per order, you should try this and it taste good.
Pork Koreika with garnish (on the left & right) – 12.4 per order, taste and look like a pork chop. It’s too dry and hard to eat ’cause the food is also cold.
📷
Chicken heart liver & liver on ketsi – 7.8gel per order, Ketsi is a traditional Georgian clay dishes. The food was great and you should try this too.
📷
Chkmeruli potatoes – 4.9 gel per order, well yeah all potatoes on it and kind a little salty but so far it’s good. And much better if you have rice to eat with these delicious meals (if you just want rice). We requested our Hotel to cooked rice for us and we just paid them for 4 gel but actually it’s not enough for us. Haha!
📷
And here we go again, how come they make a receipt that the tourist cannot understand? =( They should change this into English and it’s for their own good for all time sake. 📷
