This was our 14th day in Europe and thankfully we still have energy to tour around in Barcelona. And this time we visited the Montjuic Castle that can be found in Montjuic Hill.

How to get there:

We took a ride thru Metro Train and from our destination, Liceu station take the L3 Zona Universitaria then drop off at the Paral.lel station. This was our ticket since our Day 2 in Barcelona. We purchase a carnet of 10 tickets for €10.20 euros which is you can save €11.80 for 10 journeys with T10.

From the Paral.lel station take a walk for about a minute going to the Funicular de Montjuic. You can easily find the Funicular since there’s a lot of signing board to follow.

📷

You don’t need to pay for the funicular since it’s a connecting transportation from the Paral.lel station.

Finally arrived at the Montjuic and if you want to go upto the Montjuic Castle without any hassle you can take a Teleferic ride.

📷

The Teleferic ride cost for €12.50 per adult.

This was my MIL’s first time to ride a Teleferic and look how happy she is!

Montjuic Castle

Finally we’re here! The castle is part of a very impressive fortress and with the amazing views to offer.

📷

The castle was an old military fortress and used as a military prison but now it’s a peaceable place that everyone can visit here as long as they wanted since last 2007 the castle came under the ownership of Barcelona city.

We only did was to stroll around the castle but we didn’t bother to go inside because we already satisfied by the gardens and the views of the city from here are magnificent! But if you want to go inside the castle, the entrance fee cost €5 per person.

I felt like a princess together with my prince charming! Hahaha! (Beauty and the beast feels like! :D)

📷

And this is my forever little prince! <3

📷

We went at the back of the castle and this is the view you’ll see.

📷

Our visit to the castle was great ’cause as you can see, well kept outdoor gardens, nice weather and it’s not too crowded.

📷

The views on the other hand, are amazing. You have a 360 degree view of the city of Barcelona.

📷

We just spent 2 hours around the castle and we’re going back to our place.

📷

Look at our little traveler.  He never scared for a second, in fact he was really amazed by the view.

📷

He didn’t missed any glimpse and he was just staring at the view all the way down.

📷

And here we are riding the Funicular for the second time around!

📷

Raf was waving to us saying, goodbye! 📷
