The perks of having relatives living to another country which you plan to visit was a great idea especially they can be your personal tour guide just like what Chad’s cousin did. She let us tour around the city of Barcelona that was actually a walking distance from their home. Finally a day without my Google map and translator! Hahaha!

Arc de Triomphe

Our first stop was the Arc de Triomphe. This architectural monument stand today as the iconic landmarks of Barcelona and it was built during 1888 for the Exposition trade fair.  This monument is built with red bricks and the lawn and the walk way in front of the arch is cool place to have a stroll around and relax.

📷

There are bicyclists riding around this place, the buildings and trees around this locality is so beautiful to have a stroll.

Ciutadella Park

Along the way inside the Park, there’s a lot of kids enjoying the street bubble show and even our little traveler trying to catch the bubbles together with his cousin.

📷

Parc de la Ciutadella Fountain

Inside the park you’ll see this beautiful fountain with the statues of the golden horses above. The day we visited it was sunny so our photos we’re just stunning.

A great photo backdrop with a Mammoth.

There was a small pond in the middle with a group of inquisitive-looking and friendly geese. The rest of the park seemed lovely as well,  many people were lazing in the shadows, having picnic and just chilling.

Barcelona’s Giant Lobster

This is the Giant Lobster statue that was originally part of a seafood restaurant, Gambrinus. The sculpture design and built by the Spanish artist Javier Mariscal. But when the restaurant closed the statue was bought by the city council of Barcelona and now takes pride of place in Passeig Colom near the Port Vell.

And again, another bubble show in the street so we took a few minutes to rest while the kids playing and catching the bubbles.

📷

We avail a boat riding for . and while we we’re waiting for the boat to arrived, we walk thru the nearest food stall in the area and tried their crepes.

And here we are eating our foods while enjoying the sea view. Perfect!

Boat riding

it’s a 1 hour boat riding that routes more of the must see places in Barcelona but unfortunately there’s no audio guide included so it was just a sightseeing view.

Columbus Monument

This is located at the end of Rambla, just by the harbor. The monument in honor of  Christopher Columbus because this is where he positioned at the site by first reached Spanish main land after his journey to discover Amerika, to report to  Queen Isabella.

📷

We didn’t got a chance to go inside because it has too many stairs to go thru and it will be difficult for us ’cause of the baby stroller. So we just stayed outside to take pictures with these lions.

📷

La Rambla

This was our second stroll around La Rambla and this time the sun is still up and we saw some of the street artists along the way and they create a truly unique vibe within the city.

📷

At the La Rambla, you’ll see a lot to visit but since we’re already tired, we just stopped by, take photos and we didn’t bother to go inside.

📷

Some of the sculptures you’ll find in Barcelona may seems strange and weird just like this one but still cute though.
